Key Stage 3

The move from Primary to Secondary school, Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3, from year six to year seven is perhaps the most anticipated transition at Naisula School. To help students feel comfortable, we have a well-orchestrated programme which helps the students to understand and blend well into the new life at secondary school. In Key Stage 3, students are encouraged to extend themselves academically and socially. They have their lessons with specialized teachers in; English, Mathematics, Science, Modern foreign language (Swahili, German and French), Geography, History, Global Perspective, ICT, Art, Music and P.E.

In addition to these core subjects, students also have the opportunity to experience new activities, Sports, Music, Art and Design through the Naisula School Clubs Programmes that runs after school hours. The aim of Key Stage 3 is to provide students with a wide variety of programmes in an environment where they can learn to become responsible and independent learners and to provide them with a solid academic base from which to commence their two Year IGCSE Programme in year ten. The expectation at this level is that students should be doing approximately two hours of independent study daily. This is possible in a boarding school setting, slowly building up to more hours of study at the start of their IGCSE course.
